He’s brought back his disastrous “dirty deal,” attaching a plan to greenlight the disastrous Mountain Valley Pipeline and other fossil fuels to must-pass legislation—this time, with the added pressure of a looming federal default.
We’ve been fighting to stop the disastrous Mountain Valley Pipeline for eight years, and so far, we’ve succeeded. But Manchin and the fossil fuel industry will do anything to force through their pet pipeline project, so we need your voice. Don’t forget: your senators work for YOU.
The Dirty Deal’s worst provisions, like limiting community review for fossil fuel projects and undercutting the bedrock National Environmental Policy Act, are still on the table. So we need to fight back.

Let’s be clear: we do need to pass legislation to build a modern, resilient grid powered by renewable energy. This vision for good permitting reform would allow us to expand access to rooftop solar and maximize our use of already degraded lands. What we don’t need is a heavy thumb on the scale for more fracked gas and less community input for proposed projects. And we definitely don’t need the Mountain Valley Pipeline.
