This November, voters in the Chesapeake region have a historic opportunity to impact climate action nationwide. That’s because the monumental midterm elections will determine the makeup of Congress and the margin of victory is likely to be close. Our region is facing so many critical challenges right now – from proliferating, resource-hungry data centers to escalating extreme weather events and more – all compounded by a federal administration that is trying to put an end to clean energy and climate action. The eye of the nation is on several key races that will determine whether Congress is controlled by fossil fuel allies or climate champions. Help us elect climate champions to Congress!

CCAN Action Fund is focusing our efforts on two critical races — one each in Pennsylvania and Virginia — and endorsing candidates based on two core criteria:

Policy Alignment: A commitment to advancing ambitious climate policies, expanding clean energy, and addressing the growing impact of data centers on the energy grid — especially skyrocketing electric bills for ratepayers.

Integrity and Ethics: A proven track record of ethical leadership and accountability, ensuring candidates can effectively serve and represent their communities.
