Proceeds from the raffle fund the work of Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) Action Fund.
The mission of CCAN Action Fund is to effect change in public policy at local, state and national levels to directly address the threat of climate change. Through voter education, lobbying and participation in the electoral process, we seek to move our country into a leadership position on the most urgent issue of our time.
Did you know that cars, trucks, and other forms of transportation account for nearly 30 percent of America’s air pollution? We’re raising awareness of better transportation options by raffling three electric vehicles. The proceeds from the raffle will be used to push for cleaner transportation policies at the state and federal levels. Learn more about CCAN Action Fund (EIN 01 – 0879928).

Anyone can win! Last year’s winners were Tom D. of North Carolina, who won a Rivian R1S, Justin K. of Minnesota, who won the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, and David C., with the Chevy Equinox ET. Tom told us he loves how his new electric SUV feels. “The performance and power are unlike anything I’ve ever owned; it’s exciting every time I get behind the wheel.” He’s planning to fill it with “as many adventures as possible. Whether it’s a long road trip, a spontaneous weekend in the mountains of NC, or a relaxing escape to the beach.” He said the new car feels like a “huge blessing” and reminds him “how unexpected and wonderful life can be.”
Thanks to Tom and other ticket buyers, CCAN Action Fund is able to do great work year round. This year already, we’ve passed policies bringing balcony solar to Virginia, while working in Maryland to clean up transportation. We’re also protecting ratepayers in Washington, DC and helping them lower their bills while cleaning up pollution. And federally, we’re pressuring Congress to unleash the clean energy revolution with historic transmission investments.

Raffle Details and FAQs
Who Can Purchase A Ticket?
Ticket purchaser must be at least 18 years old at the time of purchase. Persons under 18 years of age may not be the beneficiary of a ticket purchase.
Ticket purchaser must purchase the ticket in the United States. Ticket purchaser — and beneficiary, if the beneficiary is not the same as the purchaser — must reside and pay taxes in the United States.
Void where prohibited. Raffle tickets are not available for purchase in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Hawaii, New York, Utah, or the state of Washington.
No board member or employee, or immediate family member of a board member or employee, of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network Action Fund or its sister organization Chesapeake Climate Action Network shall be permitted to win the prize. For purposes of this Raffle, “immediate family” is defined as the board member/employee and their spouse or partner, and their parents, children, brothers, and sisters.

Raffle tickets are NOT tax-deductible.
Are Car Tax Payments Included In The Prizes?
CCAN Action Fund will pay ALL relevant state and federal taxes and fees related to the purchase of each EV prize described above. The Prize Winners will receive the car free outright. Find more details here.
Raffle Timeline
Thursday, April 30 at 9:00 AM ET: Ticket Sales Begin
Raffle tickets will be sold up to the maximum of 10,000 valid tickets. Ticket sales will cease as soon as the maximum is reached or the sales period expires. The minimum number of tickets to be sold is 2,800.
Ticket sales conclude July 30 at 6:00 PM ET unless the maximum number of tickets is sold earlier.
July 30, 6:00 pm ET: Drawing
Our annual EV Raffle drawing will take place on July 30 at 6:00 PM ET and the winners will be announced on live-stream beginning at 7:00 pm ET the same day. Instructions for locating and joining the stream will be published on the website and sent to participants via email.
The Drawing
CCAN Action Fund’s Eighth Annual EV Raffle Drawing will occur automatically at the close of the raffle on July 30, 2026 at 6:00 PM.
The Drawing will be conducted electronically using the Lottery for WooCommerce plugin. At the time of entry, all entries are assigned a ticket number. Ticket generation is completed automatically and 10-digit ticket numbers are generated at random. Participants are sent their ticket number via email after purchase. WooCommerce will select three winning raffle tickets and send an automatic email to the website administrators. The purchaser of the ticket listed first in this email will receive the first-place prize of choice. The purchaser of the ticket listed second will receive the second-place prize of choice. The purchaser of the ticket listed third will receive the third-place prize.
The Winners will be announced via livestream on July 30, 2026 starting at 7:00 pm ET. All participants will be sent instructions on how to join the livestream via email a few days before the winner is announced. Winners do not have to be present to win.

Prize options are based on the polling of past participants and conversations with experts in the field.
How Many Tickets Must Be Sold To Hold The Raffle?
The minimum number of tickets to be sold is 2,800. If the minimum is not met by the Raffle drawing date, CCAN Action Fund will issue refunds to all ticket holders.
Purchasing a Raffle Ticket
Tickets must be purchased on the raffle website, evraffle.org. Tickets may be purchased by using one of the Buy/Purchase Tickets Buttons on the Raffle website.
Important note: raffle ticket sales are final, unless CCAN Action Fund does not sell the minimum number of tickets.
