On February 18, Marylanders will have their opportunity to meet the urgent crisis of climate change head on. Join us for lobby night to urge your legislators to pass two key climate bills this year.
The first is the “Clean Energy Jobs Act,” which would put Maryland on the path to 100% clean energy. It would expand the state’s renewable electricity requirement to 50% by 2030, then map out the best path for Maryland to reach 100% renewable power by 2040. A supermajority of legislators are on record supporting this key clean energy bill. It’s now time for them to act on those promises and get this bill over the finish line.
The second bill is called the “Pipeline and Water Protection Act,” which close the pipeline loophole and put tough requirements on new fracked-gas pipelines in the state.
We need to tell our legislators that these essential climate bills are important to us, and there’s no better way than to do it in person. Join us!
